| John Curry - Drums, Percussion | |||||||
John Curry was born in New Haven, Connecticut
and by age 5, migrated with his family to Bay City Michigan where he lived in a relative musical microcosm and began playing the drums. Gravitating away from
popular music he formed the power punk rock trio The Rugby Mothers with his brother Bryan, and recorded 5 albums over 7 years in the 90’s. Opening for national
acts such as: Bad Religion, The Dead Milkmen, and Dead Eye Dick, he developed his chops and focused on songwriting and recording. John has also played orchestral
percussion, blues, rock, and pop bands and jazz ensembles.1
Around 1998 John was tragically bitten by a radioactive nerd, and after his long recovery found himself working in the high tech field in Boulder, Colorado. It was in Boulder that John began mixing and blending the styles he loved to hear and play into a hybrid of jazz, groove, and funk. It was soon after that he found Ben, Biggie and Joe! And it from the first moment he laid his groove down for the guys, he knew they were the perfect meat and potatoes to ladle his special sauce upon. | ![]() |
